Digital Learning Information

Dear Greene Families,

I hope this email finds all of you well, able to access the technology, and staying safe. I want to give you some updates. The district is not checking out 4th and 5th grade devices nor have they given us permission to work on a schedule for that. I know this contradicts information sent by the district, but this is the most recent information that I have.

Are you having issues with technology? Please see this attachment.

Packets for those without access to technology may be picked up this Friday, March 27th, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the bus circle. You may be in the car, walk up, or send students on their bikes. Please use the social distancing guidelines so that everyone will stay well. We will take the lead from the district and update with new dates if possible.

Breakfast and lunch are free to all students from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Friday this week at Greene. The child must be present. Go through the car rider line, bike, or walk. Texas Roadhouse has been a great partner and given back a percentage of their profit to Greene each time we have a Greene Night. They are providing hot meals to students this Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. I want you all to be aware, and I want to acknowledge Texas Roadhouse for reaching out and taking care of our Cougars!! Breakfast and lunch pick up will only be on Monday and Thursday beginning next week. This is a change so I wanted to make sure you are in the know.

Morning Announcements will be available on our P.H. Greene Itslearning page. Birthdays are being announced. My purpose is that it provide some kind of normalcy as well as a connection for our students.

• Coming Soon! Technology help line for parents and students.
• Coming Soon! FAQ list for parents/students/teachers will be elevated.
• Skyward emails delivering at odd times. We apologize for any inconvenience. This district is working on this.

I hope that this information is useful! Again, we miss all of our Cougars. They are on our minds daily!! We are all working hard trying to make sure the work is meaningful, intentional, purposeful, and not overwhelming to you. We know that you are all working on finding a new normal as well. Please contact the teachers if you have any questions. Take care and be safe!

Dear Greene Families,

First, we miss our Cougars more than you will ever know! This has been a constant message from all staff members at Greene. We've been Skyping, emailing, and texting to stay in touch.

Second, thank you for your flexibility as we navigate through the development of digital/online learning. Our Curriculum Coordinators, Instructional Coaches, and Teacher Leaders have been hard at work creating learning experiences to meet the academic needs of our students. These distance learning experiences will become available at 8:00am on Monday, March 23, 2020.

An instructional week for students should look like:

• 1.5-2 hours of reading and writing
• 30 mins of Science
• 30 mins of Social studies
• 1.5-2 hours of Math
• Dreambox
o 30-60 mins for grades K-2
o 60-90 mins for grades 3-5

Please know that we understand there will be technical difficulties with Itslearning. If you have trouble logging in, please refresh or step away for a few minutes and try again. If you have any questions, please contact the classroom teacher.

Our wonderful PE, Music, Art and Drama teachers are working to share information with classroom teachers to keep the learning going.

Again, thank you so much for your flexibility during this difficult time. We look forward to seeing all of our Cougars back at Greene Elementary.

Dear Greene Families,

I hope that you were able to enjoy your Spring Break time with family! I also hope that this E-NEWS finds all of you healthy. We are in an unprecedented time with COVID-19. The district will continue to send updated information as soon as it is available. Please click here for lunch information for our children for this week. They do not need their lunch number to participate. They will just need to be present to receive a lunch. I am also including the link to CCISD's Online Resources for your children to continue to working while at home. We are missing our Cougars and will continue to do our best with all communications.
